Summit PAL Mission

The Summit Police Athletic League is a non-profit charitable organization run by a volunteer board comprised of Summit residents and Summit Police Department officers. In simplest terms, the overriding mission of the Summit Police Athletic League is to work as a positive conduit between the children and Police Department of Summit, in the belief that this linkage is critical to the ecosystem of the community. We look to meet our mission by promoting activities that foster lifelong health, community spirit, and feelings of goodwill for everyone involved.

The Summit PAL specifically underwrites and manages programs throughout the year for the benefit of Summit youth, including our community’s nationally recognized D.A.R.E. program. We also contribute and provide financial assistance for Summit children who cannot afford to participate in Summit athletic programs funded by or through the Summit Department of Community Programs.

In addition, the Summit PAL grants academic scholarships to Summit High School graduates who are continuing onto college and who have demonstrated both financial need and academic excellence, as determined by the Summit PAL Board.

The Summit PAL is a 100% volunteer organization. All of our activities are supported by fundraising efforts, where the majority of our funds come from Summit residents.
